Keys to Freeze is over. Our final 500 miles from Fairbanks to Deadhorse was a nine day slugfest that brought us to our final destination of the Arctic Ocean, where we could say that we'd biked from the southernmost to the northernmost points reachable by road in the United States. Below are pictures of our time on the haul road. Rachel riding up out of Fox and towards the Hilltop Cafe, the last services for 240 miles. When we arrive a lightning strike has blown their transformer and their world-famous pies sit unbaked.

Q*Bert getting gritty in the rain on Day 1. The final 'bagels eaten' count is a staggering five.

The sun shines briefly on a wet road. Pavement is still smooth.

A foot only a mother could love.

The team an hour after being rescued by 'The Dads.' David and Doug flew into Fairbanks and drove the Dalton to be there for our final days of Keys to Freeze. They found us on the road during an ice storm. Tyler and Meredith were huddled underneath a tarp while Brady, Rachel, and I were sitting in the dark of a water pump shed. Here, dry and about to eat, life is much better.

My birthday dinner at the Aurora Hotel. A buffet fit for kings. I would go on to eat four plates of similar size.

The littered beach of the Arctic Ocean. We had to pay for a tour and drive through eight miles of restricted oil fields to arrive at this gross and dangerous beach. Brady imagined an appropriate sign by the oil companies. It reads, 'DEAR TOURISTS: FUCK OFF.' Photo: David Lawrence

And now we're back in Fairbanks! For the next week we'll be bumming around Denali National Park and Anchorage before making our respective ways back home. Thanks for all the love and support.
