Hello, my name is Reese Wells. I am happy you’re here. My pronouns are he / him / his, and I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor associate. The photogenic pup you see in the photo is my dog Joe. He’ll be around quite a bit.

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My focus as a counselor is on body-mind connection and mindfulness-based counseling, which is where the inspiration for this blog is coming from. It’s my hope to use this space in a meaningful way – connecting my own creativity with my professional practice. I’m imagining a space where there’s everything from academic article reviews to mindfulness meditations to poetry that I’ve written on my typewriter. I’m pretty wide open for how this may look, and I’m excited for the journey.

Curious about the connection between function woodcarving and mental health? Me too!

And, I’m not thinking about this as a self-directed space, either. I invite you to reach out if there are topics that interest you, like the intersection between mindfulness & addiction, or the importance of clinical supervision, or codependence in relationships. I own that I am not the expert across a wide variety of topics - there are clinicians and researchers that have dedicated their lives to these topics – so I will not pretend to be an expert here. Rather this will be a space for exploration and making connections.

Also, I am leaving this as an open schedule – I may post weekly, or when I catch a creative streak a few times a week. Probably the best way to catch what I’m sharing is to bookmark this page or sign up below for my monthly-ish newsletter, where I’ll share blog posts and podcasts that have been uploaded.

Finally, it’s important for me to say this: this blog is not mental health counseling. Though the topics we will cover may delve into therapies and modalities that resonate with you, it does not substitute for time spent in session with a clinician.

That’s all I have for this little introduction post. Thanks for your time. If you have any questions or want to reach out you can do so HERE, or by email at reese@livewildcollective.com.

I look forward to the connection. Until then, have a wonderful day.
